HackProof

RustBlockchainSmart ContractSolanaNext.js

A decentralized voting system for hacking projects. Originally launched as a project in HackUMass XIII, in which we won the "MLH Best Use of Solana" prize.

Think of this scenario: you are at a hackathon, you spent two days grinding on your code and have been waiting for two hours at the judging desk for a judge to come over. The judge took less than two looks at your project and spent about 30 seonds to mark your project below some vibe-coded frontend webpage because they looked 'cooler'.

I'm sure this frustrating scenario isn't unfamiliar to many passionate hackers. The significance of good hackathon projects are often overlooked, due to the fast-paced, centralized and highly subjective judging process. HackProof is a project that prioritizes community engagement in judging, by decentralizing this process and delegating the power to real hackers and computer enthusiasts. I developed the prototype for HackProof during HackUMass XIII with Solana, and I'm currently working on shipping a complete product that is ready for use by hackathon organizers.
